Stay sober this holiday season with these tips and tricks from Diamond Tree Recovery Treatment Center.

The Red Solo Cup Trick
In a social setting we have a tendency to feel out of place if we are not drinking like others. One of the first things you can do when you arrive at an event is to fill up a Red Solo cup or glass with an alternative beverage. This could be Water, Juice, Green Tea etc. This will make you feel less anxiety by having something in your hands that you can nurse throughout the evening.
Just Say No
Practice saying no. It will make you feel more confident if you already know what you are going to say when asked to participate. “I’m training for an event”, “I’m working on a cleanse”, ”I have allergies”, ”I’m driving later”, “I am working on a healthier me”, etc.
